Any business or residence equipped with an automatic fire or security alarm system within the City of Daytona Beach Shores must have a permit issued by City ordinance Chapter 11 1/2, Section 3.
The initial fee is $20. A renewal permit is $10 which is due on October 1 of each year. Renewal forms will be mailed to each permit holder at the mailing address on file.
Getting a New Permit
An application must be completed and returned with the fee to get the new alarm permit. Applications can be completed online or obtained in person at the Public Safety Building

If you complete an online application for an alarm permit, you may also contact the Administration office at 386-763-5349 for your customer number to pay for your alarm permit online through Citizen Self Service.
The City ordinance provides for excessive false alarm fees. Alarms are considered excessive if there are more than three false alarms within a 365 day period. There is no charge for up to three false alarms. The fourth false alarm fee is $50 and $100 for each subsequent false alarm.
