Building Division

The Building Division ensures the public health, safety, and welfare of our citizens through the regulation of construction according to the Florida Building Code. 

The Division:

  • Processes building permit applications
  • Verifies required contractor competencies and licensure
  • Reviews plans
  • Issues permits
  • Performs inspections
  • Issues Certificates of Occupancy

Work Requiring One or More Building Permit

Altering / Changing the Occupancy of a Building or Structure / Constructing / Demolishing / Enlarging / Moving / Repairing

Permits are required when you perform work on any electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing system that is regulated by the technical codes such as: Altering / Converting / Enlarging / Erecting / Installing / Removing / Repairing / Replacing

  • Interior remodeling including cabinet replacement
  • Window replacement or alteration

  • Swimming pool installation or restoration

  • Soffit, fascia, and gutter work
